zamal is a tropical sativa, it takes around 14 weeks to ripen and unless you force it i would bet it doesn't start flowering until after the winter equinox. We are going to force the six - 2 ft. tall female zamal we have to flower in early august by providing an additional few hours of shade each day inorder to produce a 12/12 light cycle.

I was able to positively identify the ten zamal beans was because they were extremely small (about the size of a seaseme seed) and i made a mental note of that. The fact that they are all whorled is intriguing. They didn't start out whorled. First they started out normal and then the second set of leaves were whorled and the third set of leaves were normal again. After we topped them all the new growth was whorled.

"We started with 10 seeds. 8 germinated. From this 8 seedlings we had 6 females (it seems that this strain has an excellent female ratio ..). The strain grows compact for a sativa with an excellent branch developing. The green is quite ligth and the leaves very thin. Very vigorous growing for a pure native strain. Very stable. Low odour in the vegging time and floration.

The strain is very easy to grow and could be grown by any kind of growers (with good outdoor climate). It's the most resistance plant we've never seen. She resist very well to heat, low water conditions, low nutrients and pests ...

The yield is very low .... The bud has lots of leaves and is very hard to manicure. The buds are quite rare. Not the usual colas ... The colas are composed of very little mini colas .... This strain like to develop new branches with buds when start the floration. The high is great !! It's more trippy /paranoid than clear and quite potent (and more after see this lame sativa buds .... if this strain would have the dutch density she would be a killer !! ...).

The taste is similar to the mexican sativas : earthy, with some gum hash influence in the background, and sometimes little citric/spicy. Zamal seems to be dominant in its nice structure and the female/male ratio when it's crossed. "

There are two versions floating around. The first is from breeder christophe and is widly availble. The second came from a native breeder named Zustin via a OG'er. I grew the Zustins version but only succeded in grow out 3 males from 8 seeds. They were grown next to a nevilles haze from rooting and showed less streach than the hazes even though the zamals were males and the hazes were female.
