Kush is a very stable strain that may work well for breeding projects if you are looking for a few of the following characteristics: relatively fast maturation period (about 40-50 days) More of a hashy taste. Yield is about at average or slightly just below. My personal choice would tend more towards a pure Afghani #1 strain. Better yield, about the same maturation time, a bit "heavier" of a buzz and more of a knocked-out head bobbin buzz.

Kush is very theraputic for my particular body chemistry, a real clean high without any anxiety, in a way it reminds me of Valium (to me, maybe not to you) I just wish I could find a Kush that had super potency.

It turns out that the Master Kush from Aloha is a very potent strain. It knocks me out but maybe my body chemistry is different from yours! It grows real well and the floral clusters have a delightful aroma to them; like a grape flavour, maybe. Of the ten seeds I grew out, there was a lot of variability in the growing characteristics of the plants. Several were very sativa-dominant. The one I kept as a mother is short-statured and a heavy producer of many small, hard buds. I still cultivate it because I love the hashy smell it releases but as I said, its effect upon me is mostly a narcotic one in nature.

Had some Master Kush from Amsterdam Aloha. The buds varied in quality, some very weak and others pretty good. Agree with 67ed, definitely an indica narcotic stone, but compared with Afghani, much clearer "head"; Afghani feels like someone hits you in the face and puts concrete in your ears. Master Kush is much cleaner and feels more like a meditative stone. Anyone ever crossed sativa strains with Master Kush?

The last issue (afghani vs. kush) is largely one of personal taste. I myself, as much as I love that hashy Afghani taste, tend to prefer growing Kush for headstash for the fruitier palate and aroma. In addition, I find most afghani varieties too leafy (albeit these leaves are "liberally encrusted with resin" as Robert Connell Clarke stated in his authoritative work, Marijuana Botany) for everyday smoking. However, if the main consideration when growing is yield and "saleability" (a loose aggregate of attributes such as density and skunky aroma which lend towards a positive consumer response) then it is hard to beat most afghanis.

Sweet Tooth: a fair number of smallish buds, but they all look and smell like they've been dipped in some sort of potent milky white insecticide. What really kind of suprised me is that this breed is like a superior version of Hindu Kush. It has the same taste, only more intense; a very unpot like taste if you ask me, like smoking incense or something. The high is purely indica as well; take one hit and you definitely feel it, but you never get. really blitzed, and its pretty much all body high. I'd only give it a B right now, but that's for microwave bud picked three days ago.

I'm guessing that a lot of the skunk plants are sweet in comparision to some of the heavy indicas. The skunkiest plants I've grown have been Hindu Kush. After I'd get done working on my garden I'd have to take a shower to wash off the sticky resin covering my arms from reaching over plants and grabbing "tired" leaves... no other strain I've come into contact with has been even close to the pungency of the Kush I almost returned a perfectly good unvonair+ because it wasn't doing anything for the odor. I wish I could have kept the strain but it was a bust waiting to happen so I ditched the mom but a friend has crossed it with cali-o and has grown out the resulting plants and it has seemed to make the odor controlable with a high, taste, and visual trichrome appearence that's incredible. It totally bums me out that I can't grow this strain anymore because it's too pungent to use. I've grown Hindu Kush and Masterkush and can tell you that Sweetooth ain't like any Kush I've run into from Positronics or Sensi, both of those are extremely skunky with no hint of citrus or sweetness.

Champagne is a Kush indica from Vancouver, BC. I have the clone and as far as I know any seeds are hybrid only. It's a great yielder with excellent crystal and ranks 8+ on my scale. Unfortunately, not good enough to make the grade compared to my 9+ plants, but a good indoor plant anyway.

It is a misunderstanding to think that sativas provide a laughing buzz, in my experience they do not. Sativas provide mental energy, a productive physical and mental proactivity. Daytime work high. No lethargy. But "silliness" is not a sativa attribute, though as the 400 pound gorilla says each week, "I could be wrong". Hindu Kush is my preferred "laughing your ass off" strain, it's 100% indica, but Kush is not a sedating indica. Kush is great for parties or conversation. Furthermore, Northern Lights x Kush by Willy Jack, for example, is inexpensive, short and a heavy yielder! Also, who exactly raves about the Haze? It takes a long time, is a thin yielder, stretches, doesn't cross well, and can induce paranoia. The Thai or Hawaiian Sativas are greatly superior sativas in that they are always a good mental and physical high with no drawbacks (unless you want to sleep or get totally baked). Sensual or active indicas include the Kush (especially), Mikado (sex/dancing), California Orange.

The good thing about Hindu Kush (Sensi) or BC Kush (various) is a real ease in growing, good yields of big buds. It's probably one of the largest yielding of strains and is not a fussy plant. Reasonably quick maturing outdoors and in. Sublime high, good for gatherings. No distinguishing scent generally.

Willy Jack's Hindu Kush and crosses with Hindu Kush are Sensi seed plants from Amsterdam. The BC Kush is the first strain I began distributing in November 1994. It's a lovely laid back non-sedative laughing indica. Here in BC it grows indoor and out, is easy to grow, and not strong in odour. It is very similar to the Sensi Kush, but I know it has been growing here for 15 years, largely outdoors in the 80s.

I've been sampling NL#5 and Hindu Kush, both from HS. I'm giving the nod to Hindu for a better high... less paranoid, more uplifting, happier. It has a nicer taste too!
