Breeder's Description - 'Shiva Skunk'
|
This cross between Skunk #1® and Northern Lights #5® is one of the most reliable varieties that we have ever produced. Excellent hybrid vigour and yield make this one a snap to grow. Works superbly indoors as well as in a greenhouse. Taste and high are similar to Skunk #1® -a rich, sweet pungency, but with more resin and better yield. Its high calyx to leaf ratio means you can almost throw those scissors away as very little manicuring is required.
An absolute must for beginners or experts.
Flowering: 45-55 days.
Height: 125 cm.
Yield: up to 125 gr.

Good solid strain. The NL#5 x Skunk#1 made for good solid buds, not lots of weight, but good quality and great taste/smell. It's got that Fruit Loops smell... I call it grape Koolaid but its not a smell you can put a finger on.
Short flowering period. They say 45 days but don't listen to that. I took some at 45 and then at 55 and my longer flowering buds were way better. Very simple to grow. I never used fertilizer, but rather just put Blood and Bone meal in the soil and it was good enough. I grew with just 250 watts and got a good amount of bud from it..

This strain was difficult to clone. Seeds popped 100% and when I grew in soil with GH nutes I got 10z's from 2 plants. Then I grew the 4 clones out and I got 6 z's... Not sure what I did wrong... I am compulsive and spare no expense to get everything I can under my control 100%.
Fear this new 4 plant hyro Ebb & Flow will be same as last setup as I haven't changed much at all.
Loved the grape smell.... Everyone I know here in Hawaii agrees this is some of the best bud here... Unreal berry tase, and only 42 days for ripe buds.

I use a 430w HPS to flower.
Two 125 compact flouros to veg.
Clone machine to clone.
Veg for a few weeks till they are 18".
GH nutes all the way. Flower in 3x2x6 room with 250 cfm venting in and out with aircooled hood and AC in room to keep temps perfect.
Used Ebb & Flow for second run and soil in 3 gallon planters for first run. Soil method had way better yield.

i bought 1 pack of the originals sensi shiva skunk from doc chronic tried to germ 16 seeds but only 2 germinated . I got 1 female and 1 male , the girl was totally purple even in veg it had purple underside of the leaves this strain is so easy to grow i put her under 1 /600 watt hps, fed with gh nutrients in a 3 litre pot using grow wool.
Flowering was 55 days, could have been 50, but I pollinated some of the branches with the male
I got 3 oz from her.
It has a lemon pine smell and is avery sweet tasting strain. If you smoke 2 cones, it will give you a very balanced head and body stone but smoke more and its couch time. I highly recommend this strain to anyone im a KEEPING HER FOR EVER NOW

February, 005 |
I received a 10 pack of Sensi Seeds Shiva Skunk from KindSeed.
Out of the ten I recieved 5 good females, 3 were the same pheno, 1 pheno stunk highly of grape candy, and the last pheno had a sativa structure with tons of resin but the taste did not seem to please me .
I vegg for 3 weeks, then flip to 12/12, another person said wait till the 55th day, and he is right, they will turn out much better, more color, taste, resin, and yeild. I got to say thanks for that bit of info, plus who cuts their bud at 6 1/2 weeks?
All in all this is a great plant for starters or novice gardeners, easy to maintain, low smell while growing, matures fast the most important in this overgrown world of ours, thanks for peeping my selection.

Mix of chemical and organic |
I used one 250 Metal Halide in my vegg room, and one 400 HPS in bloom , I cant leave out that I use air-cooled hoods one of the most important parts of temp control.
I feed the ladies Botanicare Pro Blend hydro-organic mix and they eat it up, I used earth juice but the stuff is sick and can ruin your crop if it is not new stock beware.
My medium is fox farm ph balanced mix with extra Perlite and a touch of Vermiculite, I use 10 inch pots that hold around 1 1/2 gallons of mix, and I flush 2 weeks with pure water and then with Botanicare Clearex 2-3 days before harvest.
