Arguably the top sativa strain available today. With 90% sativa genetices, Kali Mist grows into tall, running, classically sativa plants with very few leaves. This strain produces dense clusters of full fluffy buds, producing much higher yields than you would expect. The plant structure and few leaves allow the light to pass all the way to lower branches, allowing bottom buds to develop fully. When planted outside early in the year this plant can grow very tall. I personally love this strain. It's generally hardy, it handles high heat levels and draught very well, definitely mold resistant, yielded well even during a thrip infestation, etc. Cloning it fast and easy. It seems to respond well to various supercropping methods.
Not much variation in the seeds I grew out, but I did notice that some matured faster then others... No difference in yield between 'em, but because I harvest all at once, I can discern a difference in the high between early and late maturing plants. I'd recommend harvesting all plants on the earlier rather then late side for this strain as there's nothing really gained from letting 'em go longer. The uniqueness of the high is in the up rush and sense of clarity, letting them flower too long will take away from that, without adding anything but heavy eyelids.
Odor in the flower room is low in comparison to many strains and shouldn't be a problem.
Buds are fluffy, so in late flowering it looks you're gonna get a huge yield. But alas, the dried buds are very light. Regardless, I wasn't disappointed with yield. Expect a good stretch on main branches after flipping to 12/12, but don't worry as the buds fill-in quite well.
I don't have too much of a problem with branches breaking under bud-weight, as the buds fill in equally along the branch (ie, it's not a "head on a stick" type). But because of this, you may want to do some kind of tie-down method in order to gain more equal light distribution to the lower section of the long colas.
Smell of the cured buds is quite unique, again on the spicy side of the spectrum, not too pungent or strong.
Taste is delicious, with a slight spicy-hot bite on your tongue (but not a throat-burner). I often catch myself smoking a joint just for the pleasure of the flavor.
The high is almost not like weed at all: very up and clear, with a visual clarity (brighter whites and greater depth perception) kinda like a slight mushroom buzz without the goofiness. Music and sound is exceptional. I recommend all musicians and producers use Kali Mist as a tool in the studio, particularly in final mixing. This isn't stupid weed, you have normal physical function; your thought process is fast and not blurred. It really shines on active sunny days at the beach or in the park. But it's almost unnoticeable at night on the couch (except for the fact that you can't fall asleep). No harsh/headachy comedown.
Commercially this strain is a flop. Buds are fluffy and unimpressive (no "tight nugs"), not a one hit head-slammer, doesn't smell like a dead skunk, and won't nail you to the couch.
