  Breeder's Description - 'Buddahs Sister'

Previously called Soma Skunk V+, this variety was renamed Buddha's sister to suit her tendencies and advance her appeal to Amsterdam coffeeshops. What's in a name? Directly after this deliciously good weed acquired a more intriguing name, she regularly sold out at the coffeeshops, and remains one of the best selling weeds available at De Dampkring. This sibling of Siddhartha is tall and lanky. In the cross with Afghani Hawaiian, she has a considerably increased yield, but less sweet taste than her other half, the Reclining Buddha. Buddha's sister has a flavor like a tart cherry candy, and the ...continued

Started out with 10 beans of Soma's Buddah's Sister (Afghani-Hawaiian x Reclining Buddah), out of those 10 ended up with 5 very similar looking females .

Growth--
VEG) BS grows very short & squat with lots of side branching, much like a pure broad-leafed indica (largest leaves I have seen indoors). All 10 plants had nearly the same identical structure & smell. Preflowers came early so it was easy to indentify the males/females in veg.

BLOOM) BS has a rather long 9-10week flowering period for such an indica dominant plant. Minimal stretch during flowering, buds are average sized with average calyx to leaf ratio but are fairly dense & completey covered in shiny resin glands (one of the most resinous strains I have ever grown!). The smell is very aromatic , like funky tart cherries.

SmokeReport--
Appearance: Buds are small, dense, spiral shaped with many firey red hairs covering the super sticky resin encrusted calyxs.

Smell: At 1st whiff you get a strong funky sour odor, then it quickly transends to a sweet, fruity cherry smell.

Taste: The flavor of BS is down right mouthwatering....slightly tart/sour & very sweet like a cherry coughdrop.

Effect: BS smokes very light for such an indica dominant strain. The high is mostly felt in the head(sativa) with just a touch of relaxing body but not enough to make you groggy or tired. Its one of those mild, creative, feel good type of highs good for socializing with friends.

Overall I'd rate Buddah's Sister a solid 7.5-8 . Although the high is rather light & the yield average...... the unique smell & flavor still make this strain worth looking into for those who enjoy fruity cannabis varieties.

This plant is a must have for anyone who likes a full body high. It's a short Indica with massive foliar cover and super dense rock hard buds. We were able to get 3 separate females, all with the same phenotype. Short squat Indicas with wide shark toothed fan leaves. We vegged these plants for 25 days under 500W of MH light. We grew them in an aerated water hydro setup using GH nutes a touch of Oxyblast and Superthrive. They were 20" tall when we flipped them. We transplanted into a WaterFarm cell, under 2200W of HPS light with a nice 1200PPM CO2, 45% humidity and 85 F environments.

The buds formed quickly, with this plant generating four large colas. The calyx to leaf ratio was above average and they took up minimal amounts of space.

Potency – Buddha’s Sister is above average, in fact, way above average. I am a daily smoker and I can’t finish a joint. I get about halfway through before I forget what I’m doing.

Effect – Full body high, my friend described it as being dipped in a pool of warm water, the stone creeps up your legs, torso and finally settles in the back of your head. It’s akin to a strong muscle relaxant.

Medical Use – I suffer from chronic back pain, sore muscles and bad feet…Buddha’s Sister makes me forget I have feet….

Garden Yield per Plant – We yielded 6.4 ounces off two plants

I like this plant quite a bit and have 10 nice fat clones getting ready to hit veg in about two weeks. This one has taken a permanent spot in my stable.

I recieved my beans directly from Somas loving hands.....I picked these up in January of 04 in Amsterdam as a pack of 14....standard Male/female seeds.....I germed them on June 1'st and got 12/14 to germ...

In veg all plants showed extreme indica traits....Fat stems, short structure, Very wide fingerd leaves....There appeared to be two phenotypes from the start with the only real difference in leaf stem length, otherwise pretty much identical....I veged for a total of 40 days from the seed breakin the soils surface....

Upon flowering I had 7 females and 5 males....The Best lookin/smellin/vigorus plant in the garden turned out to be a Male that I used heavily for makin hybrids...The 7 Females fell into what I would consider 2 phenotypes...

Phenotype 1 was what I considered the Reclining Buddha (having grown RB I knew what to look for)...these plants had a larger yeild and slightly fatter buds but the high was more of the sweet cherry flavor with a fairly standard indica high.....there were 3 females worthy of keeping but i knew what flavor and high I was lookin for and that wasnt it.....these finished in 55 days....

Phenotype 2 was the AfghaniHawiian pheno that is what I had in mind when growing these out....It took me four months to choose a keeper mom from this pheno....but the one I kept is amazing.... Much better bud formation not so dense but more calyxed out so there is more area for resin to cover...smaller connecting buds but Much better Quality pieces all the way to the bottom of the plant....
The flavor on these phenos were out of this world....Tangy/tart is an understatement these buds are Tasty...Lemon and grapefruit zest that just overwhelms yer sinus's and palate....Everyone that smokes the Keeper female I have Instantly says "Oh my God, I've never tasted herb like that"....with a lil smack of their tounge to the roof of their mouths....real smooth and pleasing...

The high is first class...Very heady and cerebral for an indica....I made the mistake of having this as my "indica" while on my sativa safari in the dam last year..didnt help me sleep at all..LOL.....Social due to its giddieness, but real powerful.... all my "hard-core" smokin buddies think this strain rules due to the laughing high and real facial numbness it causes....it also sits in my chest quite a bit which helps with the overall relaxation....

flowering took 63 days for these phenotypes.....I prefer to grow this strain as a single stalk Tall plant, flowered at 14" will finish at 36-40 with a very impressive top on the main cola and a nice crown of surrounding lower branches....I normally get about an 1 1/2 z from a plant grown like this...where a "bush style" BS may only yeild 21-28 g......

DO NOT harvest Early or you 'll miss out on serious potencey, the plant turns red early but watch the Trichs and not the hairs....
