  Breeder's Description - 'Blue Satellite'

The Blue Satellite #1 is the result of a rare, Blueberry Sativa mother, pollinated by a choice second generation Skb male. This a flexible plant that trains well. The smell is astringent, like cleaning fluid. Very kind! The yield of the mother is below average, but with the Skb influence you can expect to find bigger, more vigourous specimens, as well as the skinny head stash of the mother. The quality is unsurpassed for the head.

Blue Satellite #2 (DJ Shorts Blueberry Sativa x SOL’s Sweet Tooth #3)

Veg Stage: B.S.’s germination rate was 12/12. The male to female ratio was 4/8. It grows very strong and fast in Veg. stage. All phenotypes grew very uniform and the strain in my opinion seems very stable. I only grew out the 2 strongest and both were very similar in veg and bloom. It grows very vigorous and only needs 5-6 (35-45 days is good) in veg. The strain truly is a mix between a great Sativa and Indica. Be careful not to give too much nutrients. I have always had problems with Blueberry and it being real picky about nutrients. I usually only give it ¾ the recommend dosage of nutrients. My suggestion is to top it before you put it in bloom (a few days before is good). Even though the leaves may look deep Indica (in all my phenotypes) it tends to have a good stretch. Clones root at lightening speed.

Bloom stage:

Excellent! This plant is a joy to grow in bloom and in general (after I have topped). The ST#3 gives the plant a very nice yield and adds to the flavor. The Blueberry adds that excellent high and a great flavor as well. Also the Blueberry makes the BS more mold resistant. This was a problem I encountered with the pure ST#3. You can expect 4+ ounces (no co2) for a nice sized bush. The plant has excellent trichome production as well. It takes on the characteristics of the parents with crystal packed buds. It also is quite fast (for my garden), being fully mature in 50-56 days.

Final evaluation:

The price is steep, but you get what you pay for and this strain is worth the money. I really would also like to try the BS#1. Since I am a big fan of Shiskaberry (grow report later). I really did not like the ST#3 all that much, but these 2 strains (blueberry + ST#3) makes a great combo. The smoke is very tasty and smooth. A very balanced Indica/Sativa high is what you can expect. It hits very nice to the head. The smooth flavor from both parents is evident in the taste. The bag appeal of BS#2 may be its best attribute. The buds are very thick packed with trichomes making the bud nice and thick. My congratulations go out to DJ Short and Breeder Steve for an excellent combination. Hopefully we can see more of there stuff together in the future. Overall this a excellent strain that currently resides on my top 10 list. Also this strain is excellent for bubble hash production.
