The BG’s were seeded with the moist paper-towel method, 5/5 succeeded in 10-15 hours. All were potted and put under 2x36W fluoro's. Vegetated for 28 days in 20/4 light cycle, then flowered 12/12 for 56 days under a 250W HPS. I also had a few Nirvana Skunk#1 seeds going, ended up giving them all away. Also had one AfghanxFlo clone, which turned out to be insecure about her budding sexuality (pun intended), and started masturbating on itself. Ok so I got rid of him/her after around 1 month of flowering, harvest: ½oz of dry bud that tastes like lawn. :s Had slightly better luck with the BG's, nice buds, nice smell, nice potency, only 2/5 females though, shame. They also had about 2 dozen seeds though, guess the transformer is to blame.
A couple days prior to harvest I took a sample and oven-dried it, smelled and tasted bad and didn't seem to do much. Yes I know, that’s the best way to ruin it, but still that got me a little worried about the whole batch, fortunately for no reason. After harvest the buds were dried for 7 days, after which they were put in mason jars for curing. It's now been 23 days, and I have to say the smoke is pretty nice. The smell is quite strong, very fruity and sweet. The taste is smooth and umm...bubblegummy.
I can't say anything definite about the potency, but everyone who has tried it, says it’s awesome. The reason I cant really speak for myself is that I haven’t been smoking that much lately and my tolerance is rather low, the couple first times I smoked it, it decked me right after 2 big hits. In comparison, honey oil -coated decent bud has the same effect on me.
All in all, I'm very happy with the results and the strain itself. These 2 BG's took a lot of punishment, pretty much everything a newbie grower can do (wrong). They liked to stretch a lot up till 4 weeks of flowering, so if you don’t have the vertical space, prepare for some bondage. I assume this'd make a wonderful SCROG plant.
Oh yeah, this was my first grow ever, and I want to try out other strains, but I'm pretty sure this wasn’t the last grow from me with Nirvana's BG.
