Breeder's Description - 'Chrystal'
|
Chrystal is a White Widow re-back-crossed with Northern Lights. Chrystal’s buds are big and sticky with an almost kerosene like aroma and a quick hitting high. A F1 hybrid, Chrystal produces outstanding yields of top quality (and priced) grass. Much easier to manicure than White Widow. Chrystal is a first place winner of the Dutch Highlife Cup, 2002.

This strain did take me by surprise... The trichome production is unlike anything I've seen. It almost looks like they grow out of one another!
I accidentally over fed (but was able to flush) and they came back beautifully. Fed with Age Old Organics in veg and bloom.
The 10 bucks I spent on this was priceless. Nirvana's done it once again!!!
Out of 5 beans, all cracked, and I received 4 females, and a perfect mother!
Minimal bending techniques were used, topped once at the 6th node.

Great and easy to grow, No problems what so ever.
Smells a little more than normal and has a little after taste when smoking.
But a great head high, pure head high no body at all.
Flowered slightly faster than some strains that I've grown, tends not to show maturity until the very last minute.
The Trichomes are wonderful, excellent for hash makers.
Excellent all-round.
Required more watering than past grows.
Easy to train and keep in shape very forgiving for an inexperienced grower, recommended for a first grow.

(grown for 2 cycles, consistent growth and event times)
Germed 2 due to size constraints, 12 hr soak and then paper towel method==about 48 hours to sprout, both came out female of the same pheno, kinda lanky, fan leaves that stretched far out from the stems. at birth the girls were in soil, supersoil mix+perlite with GH nutes. both mothers suffered some neglect and several underwatering days, but still kept on growing and no hermie traits came up at all.clones were taken and placed in both DWC and soil.
In soil the clones stayed rather short topped once, branched out like a minora(sp?) candle. fan leaves were smallish, but the colas grew straight up about 6-8 inches long each. 4gal pot.
In DWC, paired clones were FIM'd once and placed in a 6 gal tank, under a scrog. Got very branchy, definitely needed supports, the hollow stems couldn't handle the weight. got highest yeild with this method, buds were not as massivley round as soil onces but weremore numerous.
Liked low nutes, around 400ppm was the most it would take before burning. Both finished cloudy with bright amber trichs at around 65days
from switch. The room smelled like musty honeydew, very strong starting at around week4... carbon filter could not contain it! brushing them would give off a kinda of kerosene or motor oil kind of smell. These are very sticky girls. trimming was fast but scraping the resin off the scissors so often started to be a little annoying.
The smoke was bong smooth, with some lung expand with a light citrus smell, and that gasoline undertone following shortly behind. Fast and hard hitting high, a shared joint made everyone slobbery and pretty dumbed out for a while. Definite headhigh, after many hits you'd feel couchy, but mainly to keep the room from spinning so much. High only lasted 3-4 hours. The buds get VERY crystaly, even the elusive sucker buds that i missed pinching off were covered in sticky trichs. Don't know if i'd recommend for stomach ailments, too much of it made me feel like hurling, but at the same time hungry...Others with IBS didn't seem to have the same problem.
Very easy to grow girl in hydro or soil, although it definitely did its best in hydro. Defeintely on the party weed side, it was a great fast hitting and easy to care for strain.
