Well this was the first time I have grown Nirvana White Rhino or any breeder's White Rhino for that matter. I have grown indoors before (SAGE x Rhino plus others) and have had some successful crops that keeps my supply up. The grow started a little later than planned as I had a screw up! The original plan was to clone some SAGE that I had but I baked them by accident. No fans for one night and it cooked the newly rooted clones!
I followed my usual pattern of starting the seeds in cubes, and then dropping directly into their full size to maturation container (4.5g). Seeds germed quickly (2 days or less) and all sprouted. None were lost due to mortality of seed failure.
I vegged under 18/6 for 6 weeks from seed and they went to about 8" on average excluding my single runt. Used 400w HPS bulb for both veg and flower (my 400w MH could not be used, in addition to HPS, this late in the year due to heat issues). Watered daily and fert every 3rd watering at full strength throughout except for last few weeks (flush). Flowered for 8 weeks (57 days) at 12/12 and decreasing to 10/14 for the last two weeks. Also added Monsta Bud per their directions during both Veg and Flower which seemed to show some positive results.
Smoke Report
I harvested at 57 days 12/12 with the last 36 hours of complete darkness. The harvest was a bit early but I had some out of town vacation planned and nobody to babysit - again back to the screw up as the cause! I let them hang to dry for 4 days before performing final pruning and cleanup then put some in a baggy, packed the rest away and went on vacation. I ended up with 8.3oz of dried and clean buds. The smaller & less trich covered buds along with the bud trim I did not weigh and put aside for some ice later on. The buds are sticky but not too stinky either. There is quite a covering of trichs on all of the buds.
The taste is an earthy, hash type taste. Not the 7-up taste but a good tasty smoke overall though. I also find it is not a lung collapser which is a good thing. The high is quite good. I have had better but I have to keep in mind I harvested a week early maybe up to two. I don't find it to be a couchlock stone but defiantly a getup and go type smoke for me anyhow. Also find you can get trippin’ and really forget what the hell you were doing !
Overall a good quality smoke, no hassle to grow and a breeze overall! I will grow it again, as a matter of fact I have a 10-seed pack on standby for a future grow! Next time I will do a bit better time planning and ensure I can let them go to the very bitter end to get the best yield, taste and trich development.
