Breeder's Description - 'AK47'
|
This easy to grow plant is our most popular. It is of medium height and produces good yields quite quickly. Extremely STRONG odor and smoke. Take extra care for odor control when growing near neighbors. The name was given not out of any idea of violence, but more in association with the ‘one hit wonder’ that the smoke is. Quality without compromise makes AK suitable for commercial grows or home use. These plants have a short flowering period for a sativa, producing compact, not too leafy buds that gleam with a coat of resin crystals. Winning SEVEN prizes!! in Cannabis competitions, including ...continued

Only started out planting 7 of my 15 seeds. Was able to nab 3 females out of the bunch. The pictures shown are strictly from the plant which I chose to keep as a mother. The other 2 plants were almost identical in shape & appearance. The main difference here was the significant yield that this particular plant has.
If the high of the other 2 females was worth keeping, I would have sacrificed the yield but there is really no need. This particular plant has a super strong Luden Cherry Cough Drop flavor. The smell really becomes evident after it's been in the jar for a week or so.
I couldn't really put my finger on the smell exactly, until one of my friends came over & smelt it & said, "this smell just like Ludens!". It had/has been so long since I?ve had those! The strain gets completely coated with resin & more than likely wouldn't be my #1 choice for hash making, because as someone said in a previous review this strain does not have much trim (which quite frankly is alright with me). You DO get trim though & the little that you do get turns into some of the finest kief I?ve ever smoked.
From beginning to end this plant is a breeze to grow. These pictures show my 1st attempt at a SOG with this strain & needless to say I'm pretty happy with the results. The pictures of the cured buds are from the original plants grown from seed. Even though these plants were cut & cloned (to establish mothers) right before flowering, on average these plants yielded roughly 38 grams, which isn't bad considering they didn?t have many established tops from cutting.
The potency level was a little lower than average only because I was really expecting this "incredibly massive & overwhelming high". I really think it's because of how popular it is. It's more than likely my own disillusion. Nonetheless, based upon what I see already this particular pheno can only get better.
Overall a beautiful, high yielding, good tasting/smelling strain with a nice clear soaring high. Recommended!

Closet grow. Space is 4ft (L) X 2ft (W) X 8ft (H).
Plants were vegged in a separate veg area above the flowering room under dual 40w fluroescents. Clones are simply put into a small seedling/clone starter cells which are filled with a mix of Scotts Seedling Starter Mix & Perlite & Vermiculite.
Plants were transplanted into a soil mix with added Perlite, vermiculite, blood meal & bone meal.
Fertilized only 3 times with Peter's chemical ferts. Peter's 20-20-20 after 3 weeks of vegging (a very light dose!). Once flowering began, I fertilized with Peter's 10-50-5 (pink) once at a little less than 1/2 strength mixed with some diluted Epsom Salts & then once again at ALMOST full strength. Ended it with a full flushing.
Plants drank an average amount of water considering how much they grow. You can really see where that water is being uptaken to!
