  Breeder's Description - 'Ghaze Bx1'

This hybrid is 75% G13 clone. The first such offering ever yet retains its Ghaze denomination because pollen was sourced from two special recombinant Ghaze inbred lines, rather than using a plain F1 male. This detour from standard backcrossing techniques allowed for more precise trait selection to be conveyed back to the G13 clone, thus raising the ante in power, resin, yield and taste.

In blind tests with experienced smokers, Ghaze Bx1 was chosen over plain G13 for raw power, high complexity, duration and intriguing acrid, greasy lemony taste. Ghaze Bx1 buds are abundant and quite dense c ...continued

Veg stage:

The germination rate was 5/5. The male to female ratio was 3/5.

Phenotype #1- This Phenotype lagged in veg. It was the more Sativa looking of the first 2 (phenotype 1 and 2). It takes 8-9 weeks for a nice size bush. It is average strength in veg. It?s nothing special as far as vigor or growth size in veg. I topped this one to get it bushier.

Phenotype #2- This one looked slightly more Indica. The vigor, size, Veg duration, and growth rate where the same as phenotype 1. I also recommend topping this one.

Phenotype #3- This was the best of the bunch in veg. tight internodes with nice side branches. It has above average vigor as well. Seem to grow faster also (7-8 weeks in veg).

Bloom Stage:

Phenotype #1- The worst of the three grew tall lanky and very Haze dominant. Too bad the Haze high did not shine throw. This phenotype was a lager in bloom (75-80 days). Nothing great compared to the other to phenotype #3. This phenotype buds where big time calyx stackers with nice amounts of resin. Unfortunately they are not as thick as you would expect. The yield is high, but nothing exceptional about this phenotype besides the yield (5-6 ounces).
Killed due lack of vigor and undesirable growth traits.

Phenotype #2- This one might have been nice but it tends to have hermie tendencies. Which means it is useless to me. Killed due to undesirable traits.

Phenotype #3- The Winner (so far) - I really like this phenotype a lot. This is my mother of the Ghaze so far. It has very desirable growth traits (not super tall or lanky). It grew nice size colas that had fat calyx. Trichomes tend to look like hairs (they are long). The plant produces a good amount of resin even on the stem. The buds mature much faster as well (60-65 days). This plant yields (roughly 4 ounces) less, but the quality is twice as good. I really like the growth traits in this phenotype as well. It has strong growth, and nice sized side branches.

Final evaluation:

Phenotype #1- Bah I liked nothing except the yield here. Everything else was average. I am not a fan of overly spicy buds which this happens to be. The high is average as well.

Phenotype #3- Great phenotype!!! The taste of the plant was exceptional. Its very unique compared to others. I can?t wait to get a nice fat grow of this phenotype growing. The high is sharp to the head (instant stone), but has other qualities as well. Yield was less, but the smoke more then made up for the loss in yield. The hit from the smoke was some of the smoothest I have ever had. I am very glad I got this strain. My only problem with Dutch Flowers is the lack of accessibility to there strain base. With my first DF grow I am very impressed. I might be forced to throw down some big dollars to get a few more. This strain is at the back part of my Top 10 (that?s very good trust me). The smoke is also excellent for anytime of the day actually somewhat stimulating. The taste is among the Top 5 I grow. I would more then recommend this strain to anyone (who can get it).
