The High:
I first smoked B-52 in Switzerland, the first impression was a lasting one. The high is not for the inexperienced. In Switzerland I found myself watching VH1's Best of the 80's, and completely bugged out, I curled up fetal position in my bed, too high to even pass out, heart racing wondering what the hell reefer I just smoked. I didn't smoke alot of it, I wasn't drinking... It was just really powerful.
Later I grew it out for myself and had similar experiences. The high goes very well with music, almost too well. There were many times where I would smoke a bong or two of B-52 and pop in my favorite MMW album, UnInvisible. Half the time I couldn't make it past track 7 before getting so deep into the music that it would freak me out and I would have to stop the CD.
If you smoke after 11pm, you probably won't fall asleep until 3am.
The Plant:
If you HATE manicuring, you will absolutely love this plant. The buds were perfect little nuggets that would just spiral up the colas. It took me less than 10 minutes to manicure the entire plants' harvest, no joke. All of the small leaves surrounding the bud were so covered in resin they were worth keeping.
The plant did stretch a fair bit, but it wasn't too bad. The colas just kept growing skywards until the day they got chopped.
Oh and the resin content of these buds was ridiculous. Put one small dime sized bud in an electric grinder separate the resin from the plant matter, and the ratio of resin to plant matter is just insane. Almost unnatural.
I only ended up with 1 female B-52. Some were killed by varmit, I gave some seeds away, and one went male. The female produced three branches at every node, so it was a bit of a freak. The yeild was not that great, but every single bud, even the smallest, was a keeper.
It's only $15 for 10 beans, you will NOT be disappointed.

I was very impressed with the ease of this grow. From germination to harvest I didn't encounter a single problem other than one hermaphrodite which occurred too late into the flowering cycle to effect any of the other plants. This entire grow was conducted under a combination of soft white and warm white compact fluorescent lights using The Inline CFL Method with a Diagonal SCROG. The average plant height was reduced using a warm color spectrum during vegetative cycle to accommodate the 26 inches of vertical grow space. Average plant height was about 18 inches, and they each produced one giant cola that was so dense it absorbed all of the smaller buds turning each plant into one giant bud. I was completely flabbergasted. My friends couldn't believe their eyes, and later after I told them this grow was conducted exclusively under compact fluorescent lighting those eyes damn near shot out of their respective sockets and hit the wall; however, I was prepared to duck and take evasive maneuvers since the same thing happened to me from my own prior disbelief.
The only element more impressive than the grow itself is the effect of this powerful narcotic. You will begin to understand where this strain developed the name "B52" only minutes after you consume the resinous, sticky, glistening, trichome coated flower loaded in tetrahydrocannabinol oils because you will either feel like you have been hit with a bomb, or you may actually believe that you are in fact a bomb yourself diving at a screaming velocity from a B52 Bomber crashing towards the earth. It must be laser guided or possibly using the new classified M-180 targeting system because this is one bomb that is sure to hit its target every time and leave its hapless victims reeling in a state of collateral damage.

The grow space is six feet wide, 24 inches deep, and 26 inches high. The lighting consists of one 72 inch TrippLite power strip with a built in 20 amp breaker to protect the 16 20 watt soft white compact fluorescent lights and the 8 42 watt warm white CFL's attached by the use of plug in socket adapters. Overall power consumption in 656 watts. This setup dictates an output of 40,000 lumens distributed evenly at just over 6,600 lumens per square foot as measured from one foot away from the source. The surrounding walls are coated with a mylar surface for maximum reflectiveness. These plants were grown in 1 gallon pots using a soil mixture of Super Soil, 30 percent Perlite, and 5 percent organic matter. Plants were watered on an ass needed basis and were fed liquid ironite flower food, with a dash of H202 (promote root health) and Distilled Vinegar (acetic acid to regulate Ph and aide in the breakdown of organic matter) with each watering.

I bought the B52 seeds from SD shop when I was in a'dam. I was looking for some "not-too-expensive" type of sativa taste seeds. B52 (Nirvana) was on my list because of the good comments I read on this StrainGuide. Well, it turned out to be true. An excellent strain, well worth the $15 and doesn't seem to receive much credit!
Grow:

Germinated 3 out of 10 in the pack. One turned out female. The other two plants that I was planning to grow was Shaman (Dutch passion) and White Rhino (Nirvana). Unfortunately all White Rhinos turned out to be male and I got one female Shaman.
The grow was straightforward, no sign of nute burn or stress. On the 6th week when I used PK13/14, the meter was showing 2.5uS and had no nute problems. I flushed on 7th and 8th week and the taste of a quick dried bud was close to excellent...
The buds were full of crystals and resin. Not too much yield though. A huge cola and some nuggets on the side and some pop corns... Compared to the Shaman, the yield was pretty low but full of shiny crystals...
Had some odor problems eventhough I had my carbon filter. I guess it's time to change the carbons...
Taste:

I cannot say that I'm an expert on this. It was a taste much like hash but never tasted something similar to this. A spicy aroma, joyfull, no taste of green (probly because of the flush)
Smoke:

B52 is a potent strain. Takes the stress out, opens your mind to different and parallel thoughts about details at the same time. Wathing movies is strongly recommended, especially LOTR, all three, non stop!
The bottom line; top quality strain, really worth the price!

This was a first time grow, so the efficiency of the garden wasn't that spectacular, however I will be making improvements for future grows.
B-52 was a good plant to start with, since it taught my valuable lessons both in regards to Sativa and Indica traits. I gave it an ease score of 7 because of Ph problems throughout 30% of the grow, and a fungus gnat problem.
Out of 10 seeds, only 3 were female. A couple were hermies, and the rest were males. Despite sufficient lighting, the size of the plants ended up being about 3 and a half feet tall, with thick resinous bud sites. (If you happened to brush up against a bud, your skin would feel stick afterwards.) The plants visually looked beautiful, and the final bud produced did as well. Those 3 females produced around 3.5 ounces altogether.
The bud is light, airy, bud very resinous, and burns much cleaner and clearer than run of the mill stuff. The high itself starts off in sativa fashion with a head rush, but later fades to couchlock in the later part of the high - especially if you are just sitting around and not doing anything.
Over all excellent quality. I would grow this strain again.

My grow was done in a closet: 25 square feet, walls lined with mylar and 450w HPS light suspending from clothes rack. In the beginning there were 10 plants, and they all fit in there nicely. (It looked like a miniature forest in there.)
The seedlings started out in small containers and were later transplanted to 3 gallon ones into plain potting soil. I made the mistake of not sterilizing the soil and this is how the fungus gnat infestation occurred. I watered once every 3 or 4 days with a thorough soaking, and fertilized once a week with Pure Blend Pro. The initial lighting time was 16 hours per day, and then 12/12 for budding. The plants flowered for 60 days as per the recommendation of Nirvana.
