Breeder's Description - 'Master Kush'
|
First called High-Rise, Master Kush was developed in one of the tall buildings of south Amsterdam. Instantly the coffeeshops fell in love with this special new tetraploid. Through popular demand, this Hindu Kush/Skunk hybrid was stabilized and marketed. It has been a classic ever since. A strong plant of medium height and bushiness, Master Kush is a heavy producer with soil, hydro, and has great greenhouse results. The earthy smell of Master Kush is strong and the smoke is smooth.

One time I grew Nirvana's Hindu Kush and I was really taken by the flavor of the bud. It's almost impossible to describe accurately, but the flavor is very distinct. Not like any other I've smoked. Unfortunately the Hindu Kush doesn't have a very powerful stone.
Nirvana's Masterkush is a cross of Hindu Kush and Skunk #1. It has the exact same flavor as the HK but the potency is far superior. I've grown Masterkush a couple of times now and they usually finish around 60 days. Nice solid Indica buds with loads of resin. Both times they were very easy to grow. This is one of the more potent Indicas I've smoked, but they are worth growing just for the taste.

Grown in soil. using baby bio feed during veg and earth juice bloom in flowering.
Planted 3 seeds, 2 male and 1 female. Slower veg growth than the afghanis it was grown with, but was healthy. A few fan leaves were damaged/lost when I was away for a week and it didn't get any water. Vegged to about 9 inches. Plant showed very little stretch in flowering, ending up at about 16 inches. Most weight was packed on at around 40-50 days. Smell was not a problem throught this grow, despite lack of ventilation. Lower buds were seeded by a vigourous Flow male.
Smoke Report.
Has only been cured for 2 weeks at this stage...
Smell - Nothing remarkable as of yet, just the general cannabis smell, much like any commercial available in the UK
Taste - As stated, initially there is a somewhat floral taste on the exhale, but only for the 1st couple of tokes, after this it has a pleasant flavour that is slightly woody
High - Hits quite quickly, with a tingling in the lips, a warmth through the body and a very mellow, happy state of mind. No desire to get up and do anything, however, doesn't turn you into a complete log. Good for sitting with a guitar and getting lost in the music. No significant changes in thought patters. initial buzz lasts for about an hour, then tapers of for the next hour. Relaxing, and may be good for those who can't sleep. No hangover felt the next day.
Hopefull a longer cure will bring out the taste and smell more, and possibly increase the potency.

I have grown the strain for a few years and it’s in 8th generation now. It likes to auto branch when refined. This strain has almost a over powering flavor, odd to it self, at times it is very romantic and very full flavored. The strain grows well but take a long time to stabilize with variations still showing up as the strain develops. This is a nice sound strain base even with the variations, it gives a taste unto it self. I got to say it’s a romantic hashish flavor with soft sweet skunkish under tones. A little strong for med weeds but nice for the pain of body and mind. Its’ an easy plant to over look and needs little care and always show a good all round health. This strain dose much better in the higher gens as you can see, so it takes time to relate to a new TCE (temps/conditions/environments).

Open air soil in 5 gallon pales with good venting . Pro mix soil ,vita ferts , black 2-3 year old manure. 3/4 pipe maid holes from the top of the soil to the bottom of the pales for good airing of the roots. Fresh well water, 2-3 days, ferts are pronounced to the flowering stages, room size open 8x12, temps avg 68-85 degrees, the pictures are of a 8th gen harvested at 40 days for med weed, some what a little more leaf at this stage but the leafs have heavy resin and are good for med weeds, for med weed this strain dose good between 40-45 days and when dry you can feel the crystal on your fingers when handling this strain.

This plant was a breeze to grow, very nice structure, nice smell in the growroom and very eye appealing buds fairly heavily frosted with trichomes. Multiple colas (some LST done early in veg) with a large number of bic lighter size buds and many smaller jawbreaker sized popcorn buds. The only issue I had with growing these is that they seemed slightly sensitive to ferts in flower and were I to do again I'd use 3/4 strength the recommended dose.

Three strain grow, 2 females each of Big Bud, Jack Herer and Master Kush. Soil is a mixture of generic enriched potting soil (with a slightly better blend of nutrients then Miracle Grow) with perlite, vermiculite and dolomite lime added. Veg ferts used as recommended using Ionic Grow for Soil and Coco supplemented on occassion with superthrive (usually at transplant) Growroom is 5' x 8' x 8' walls lined with mylar, themps controlled by airconditioning and ventillation, humidity controlled by monitor and dehumidifier, light was 2 x 800W MH HIDs suspended 12 inches above the plants in veg (18 inches the first two weeks). 1000W top air cooled HPS HID during flower high efficiency furnace blower for air cooling and also active exhaust with a passive intake to fresh cool air, lights were suspended 18" above plants. Plants started from seed germed in paper towel and water sprouted in one gallon pots ferts started in third to fourth week of veg and administered according to directions. SuperThrive used at transplants which occured at 5 weeks veg into 3 gallon buckets and again at week 10 into 5 gallon buckets. Water and soil ph maintained at a steady 6.5 watered approximately every three to four days. 16 inch oscillating fan provided air circulation. Ferts used in flower were Ionic Bloom and Ionic Bloom Boost also applied as directed.
